How It All Started

God's Rolling Thunder (GRT) started in January, 2002. No glitz and glitter. No ads or billboards that said: "WANTED: All hell-bent HOG riders, ex-cons, substance abusers, and generally disenchanted folks who are getting stepped on by life." GRT sprang to life because a caring guy named Dakota who had a desire to see fellow bikers discover and experience Jesus Christ. He simply shared his idea with a friend, who in turn spoke to some of their friends: "Would you like to hang out with a few biker types who want to learn more about Jesus and care for each other's needs?"

The meeting place couldn't be a traditional church. So where could the group gather? It only made sense to meet on comfortable turf. So every Sunday morning we gather at The Roadhouse Grill one block West of Interstate 575 on Molly Lane (near Lowes Home Improvement). But neither Dakota, any of the rest of us, nor the bar is the focus of the meetings. Jesus is the focus. So GRT is an out-of-the-box kind of church, worshiping the God who's never been in a box.

GRT Fellowship is going to be a milestone day in the life of GRT.  We open our doors to another worship place.  Our location for GRT Fellowship is at Saddles Saloon on Bells Ferry Road, Woodstock.  Meet us at 10:00am Sunday mornings.  Click here to go to their site.
